February 22, 2009!!!

February 22, 2009. The Academy awards are going to be on and I’m that there are going to be laughs and cry’s winners and losers but most of all I’m sure that Heath Ledger is going to get an Oscar for his Epic screen play in THE Dark Knight. I think that even though it was only the second highest grossing film of all time right behind Titanic, and that it only cost 30 million dollars to produce is absolutely amazing. In the movie Heath ledger plays a raging psychopath that is known as the Joker, and Batman played by Christian Bale has to stop him from destroying the entire city of Gotham. Heath ledger as the joker was absolutely amazing he really captured the evil that is supposed to be possessed by the Joker. Although he is funny at times in the movie I feel like all around he really did have a very strong sense of evil to him, and that he really did want to kill everyone and everything in the world. In my belief yes hands down I am Bias to Heath Ledger winning best actor of the year in this year’s Academy awards. My final question is Why so Serious!?

Sheff,

Some might question the relevance of this post to our course, but I believe that if you worked a little bit more on it, you could somehow relate this to our unit on Mythology and Identity. Why is the Joker such an iconic character for Americans?

Please feel free to see one of us if you want to make your posts work better with our themes!

Sheff, I agree with Mr. Bolos that this post really doesn't have much to do with our unit, but we all know that you are just like a dog chasing cars, you never know what you would do if you ever caught one. I completely agree with everything you have said about Heath Ledgers performance. It was out of this world and if he doesn't get the oscar I have lost all faith in humanity. His acting was an extraordinary mix of comedy and insanity. His portrayl of the Joker will be remembered for decades to come.

Sheff,

I still recall your cool Halloween costume and I admire HL's performance, too. But as Mr. B and others have noted, there's not a lot of depth to this post. I think you can go farther. Check out an op-ed in the NYT by Jonathan Lethem. it's a fascinating take on the Joker.
